Experience Unparalleled Luxury at Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows’ New Island Tower
The Disney Vacation Club (DVC) has unveiled its latest masterpiece: the Island Tower at Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows. This 10-story waterfront retreat, nestled along the scenic shores of the Seven Seas Lagoon at Walt Disney World Resort, opened its doors on December 17, 2024, inviting guests to immerse themselves in the vibrant spirit and rich cultures of the Polynesian Islands.
A New Era of Polynesian-Inspired Luxury
The Island Tower introduces 268 exquisitely designed rooms, offering a diverse range of accommodations tailored to both Disney Vacation Club members and discerning travelers. Each room showcases custom artwork inspired by Disney’s “Moana,” seamlessly blending storytelling with sustainable design elements. Notably, the rugs are crafted primarily from recycled plastic bottles, reflecting Disney’s commitment to environmental stewardship.
Accommodations Designed for Every Traveler
- Two-Bedroom Penthouse Villas: These exclusive villas accommodate up to eight guests and are themed after natural elements and Moana’s love for nature. They feature a living room, full-size kitchen, dining area, three full bathrooms, and outdoor patios offering breathtaking views of Magic Kingdom Park or Disney’s Oak Trail and Magnolia Golf Courses.
- One- and Two-Bedroom Villas: Celebrating the beauty of water and nature, these villas sleep five and nine guests, respectively. Amenities include a full-size kitchen, dining area, living area with a pull-down queen-size bed revealing a “Moana”-themed mural, two bathrooms, a primary bedroom, and a washer and dryer—essentials for extended stays.
- Deluxe Studios: Inspired by the lush flora of the islands, these studios offer an updated layout with a seating area, kitchenette featuring a dishwasher—a first for DVC deluxe studios—a spa-like bathroom, outdoor patio, and two queen-size beds, comfortably accommodating up to four guests.
- Duo Studios: Perfect for couples, these intimate spaces draw inspiration from the wind and sky, featuring a queen-sized bed that conveniently tucks into the wall to reveal a sofa when not in use.
Sustainable Design and Environmental Commitment
The Island Tower stands as a testament to Disney’s dedication to sustainability. Projected to use approximately 30% less energy than comparable resorts, the tower incorporates optimized heating and cooling systems, energy-efficient lighting, and was constructed using pre-fabrication techniques to minimize waste. Additionally, it boasts the first all-electric kitchen on Walt Disney World Resort property within its signature restaurant, Wailulu Bar & Grill. These efforts align with Disney’s 2030 environmental goals and have earned the tower recognition from the Florida Department of Environmental Protection’s Green Lodging program.
Cultural Immersion Through Art and Design
Guests are greeted by art installations that celebrate Polynesian heritage and the natural world. Sustainable fish sculptures crafted from reclaimed fishing nets adorn the Wailulu Bar & Grill, while a preserved moss installation enhances the lobby, bringing the beauty of nature indoors. Traditional Polynesian tapa cloths, inspired by wayfinding on the ocean, further enrich the cultural tapestry of the tower’s interior.
Unmatched Amenities and Prime Location
Beyond luxurious accommodations, the Island Tower offers a new pool area, communal terrace gardens, and dining experiences that honor Polynesian culture. Its strategic location provides guests with easy access to Magic Kingdom Park via a short monorail or boat ride, enhancing the convenience and allure of their stay.
A Commitment to Conservation
In harmony with its sustainable design, the resort has preserved a historic Ficus aurea tree, dating back to Walt Disney World Resort’s opening day. This iconic tree was carefully relocated within the resort grounds, allowing guests to continue enjoying its presence during their visits.
Experience the Magic
The Island Tower at Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows is now accepting reservations. Whether you’re a Disney Vacation Club member or a guest seeking an unparalleled luxury experience, this new addition promises to deliver island-inspired vacation memories in the heart of Walt Disney World Resort.
